Flashcard Viewer

An image viewer for displaying images in standard or random order.

Simply choose from the list which topic's images you want to display, and use the large arrow buttons to navigate through the list.

At any time you can use the "shuffle" button at the bottom to randomize the list. Switching away to another topic and back will restore any list to its standard order.

You can switch between lists for New Horizon Let's Try. Only in some cases are the Let's Try images unique, in most cases they are the same images listed under that topic for New Horizon.
Chants and Song Player

An application to browse and play chants and songs.

At this time the player's library includes all of the chants and songs from "New Horizon Elementary", "Lets Try", "We Can", and "Hi Friends".

Search by material/unit, tag, or use the search bar to search titles.

Memory Game (Concentration)

The Memory game is a card game about matching pairs of cards with the same image.

First put together your card list by selecting images from the available topics.
You are free to choose specific images, full topics or multiple topics.

Beginning the game will first take you to a practice screen.
You can confirm your selection here and cycle through the images for practice, or go back to select other images.

When the game starts, 6 images from your selection will be chosen at random and populate the game screen together with their pairs.
Interact with the cards to turn them over.
Reset the game at any time to start again with a new selection of cards.
Quick Start will immediately begin the game drawing from all available images in the library.
The Missing Game
X
Missing is a game where players guess at which card from the display has been removed.

First put together your card list by selecting images from the available topics.
You are free to choose specific images, full topics or multiple topics.

Beginning the game will first take you to a practice screen.
You can confirm your selection here and cycle through the images for practice, or go back to select other images.

When the game starts, a maximum of 12 images from your selection will be randomly chosen for the display.
The 'Go Missing' button will remove one image, 'Show the answer' reveals which image was removed. 'Play again' resets the display.
If you select more than 12 images, the 12 images displayed will be randomly chosen every time.
Quick Start will immediately begin the game drawing from all available images in the library.
Picture Quiz

Picture Quiz is a game about matching images and text.

First put together your card list by selecting images from the available topics.
You are free to choose specific images, full topics or multiple topics.

When the game starts, Up to 10 images will be chosen at random from your selection.
According to the difficulty, players will have 2 or more text options to choose from.
A color prompt indicates correct and incorrect answers.
A final display will show the player's score.
Wordle ES

Wordle-Es is a recreation of the popular Wordle game for elementary students.

Try to guess the word in 6 attempts or fewer.
The colors will change to indicate letters that are correct(green) or correct but misplaced(yellow).

The vocabulary is all taken from the New Horizon Elementary textbook picture dictionary.
A picture dictionary is available in game, accessed by the 'Hints' button.

The player can choose the word length or play with words of random length each time.
Wordle JHS

Wordle-JHS is a recreation of the popular Wordle game for junior-high students.

Try to guess the word in 6 attempts or fewer.
The colors will change to indicate letters that are correct(green) or correct but misplaced(yellow).

The vocabulary is all taken from the Grade 3 Sunshine textbook for junior-high school English.
A list of acceptable words is available in game, accessed by the 'Hints' button.

The player can choose the word length or play with words of random length each time.
Bingo
X
Bingo is a standard bingo game using images.

First put together your card list by selecting images from the available topics.
You are free to choose specific images, full topics or multiple topics.

When the game starts players must assign images to the spaces on their bingo 'card'.
Once the card has been filled players can move to the next screen.
On the bingo screen, interacting with images will change their color, allowing players to mark their cards.

A double push of the 'L' button will start the game as leader.
Interacting with the 'Next Image' button will display images at random from the list and advance the game.
Bingo cards are available in sizes for 9, 16 and 25 images.
Hidden Picture Quiz

The Hidden Picture Quiz is about finding the one picture hidden under the cover images.

On the main page you can choose a standard game, or a custom game.
In a standard game the hidden image is always a treasure box.
In a custom game you can independently choose the image or images to be hidden.
You are free to choose specific images, full topics or multiple topics.
Images from your selection are randomly chosen to fill the grid.
There is always exactly one hidden image.

Interact with the cover images to remove them and reveal the hidden picture underneath.
There are multple options for grid size, if your image selection is sufficiently large enough to support it.
The Flash Game
X
Flash Game is about remembering a list of words after briefly seeing their images.

First put together your card list by selecting images from the available topics.
You are free to choose specific images, full topics or multiple topics.

When the game starts, begin the randomly chosen image display with the start button.
There are speed settings to customize the game, and you can repeat the display as many times as necessary.
When ready, 'Go to Answer' displays the answer page.
Choose only the images that appeared in the display.
The 'Back' button allows you to go back and view the display again.
Reset the game at any time to generate a new display randomly chosen from the image selection.
Restaurant Orders

This application supports restaurant games and activities.

The left window displays menu choices.
The right window displays the current order.
'Finish' advances to a display of the price for the order. The prices are all taken from the New Horizon Elementary picture dictionary.

Navigate the food and drinks menus to find what has been ordered. Interact with images in the menu to add that item to the order.
Interact with images in the active order display to remove them.
Alphabet Maze
X
Alphabet Maze is a randomly generated maze using the letters of the alphabet.

Navigate from left to right along a path made by the letters of the alphabet in order A-Z.

Buttons at the top let the player change between upper and lowercase, reset and display hints.

The hint button will show the next correct answer or, if the player has already highlighted 26 blocks, remove the incorrect blocks.
The maze is randomly generated for infinite fun!!
Randomizer
X
Randomizer is a simple random number generator.

On the first screen, choose the range of numbers for your application.
When cycling through the numbers, the current number and previous three numbers are all displayed.

The remaining numbers in the selection will display when the selection is of 40 or fewer numbers.
Getting Around
X
"Getting Around" is a game for practicing giving directions in school and around town.

You may choose between the "Around School" and "Around Town" variations.
Navigate the 'character' around using the arrow keys, or onscreen touch-keys.
In all game modes rooms/buildings can only be entered from below, and never from above.

There are three game modes, Practice, Treasure and Secret. "Around Town" has two sets of images to toggle between.
Practice is for practicing the vocabulary. Entering a room/building will briefly highlight it.
Treasure is a treasure hunt game. Treasure is placed randomly in one of the locations.
Entering a room/building in treasure mode will reveal if that location contains the treasure.
In 'Secret' all location positions are randomized and the images concealed.
Entering a location in 'Secret' will reveal what it is.
Bongo
X
Bongo is a variation of the bingo game.

First put together your card list by selecting images from the available topics.
You are free to choose specific images, full topics or multiple topics.

When the game starts players must assign images to the spaces on their bongo 'card'.
Bongo is always played using a card with 4 images.
Once the card has been filled players can move to the next screen.
On the bingo screen, interacting with images will change their color, allowing players to mark their cards.

A double push of the 'L' button will start the game as leader.
Interacting with the 'Next Image' button will display images at random from the list and advance the game.
Instead of marking lines and columns on the card, players win when they have marked all of the images on their card.
Bongo is great when the target vocabulary list is not big enough for a standard bingo game.
Storybook Reader

Let's Try storybooks is a reader for the storybooks that make up the final units of the Let's Try textbooks.

The full 32 pages of each book are available.
The experience is substantially different when compared to using only the shortened versions of the storybooks to be found in students' textbooks.
Three Hint Animal Quiz
X
A three hint quiz with animal based questions.

This is intended to supplement the third grade storybook "In the Autumn Forest".

An option on the first page will take you to a practice screen.
All of the vocabulary that appears in the game is listed on the two practice pages.

The main game consists of 5 preset lists of 5 quiz questions.
When the game starts, you can choose one of the preset five questions or a random five.
The preset five are always the same however, may have a random order.
The random function pulls a set of 5 questions from among the preset questions.
The Typing Game

A typing practice and challenge game.

Choose from the available topics to create a list of vocabulary.
Choose from the game and time settings.

FREE - Free practice, the vocabulary list repeats and there is no timer.
TIMED - Vocabulary list repeats until the timer reaches zero.
TRIAL - Cycle through the vocabulary list once against the timer.

In 'TRIAL' all typing mistakes incur a one second penalty while completing words adds one second to the remaining time. Any remaining time is added to the player's score.
Typhoon
X
A variation of the popular ALT game "typhoon".

Typhoon is a popular game for ALTs, taking any list of vocabulary and combining it with a set of game actions with a range of points values, and special actions such as stealing points from other teams and removing points from all teams.

From the topic selection menu, choose the images to appear on top of the game cards. Twelve is the minimum, if you select more than 12 you will have a randomized 12 from your selection.
The settings menu allows you to change the numbers of typhoon game actions. Available actions are:

Gain points cards, 0, 5, 10 and 20
Steal points, to take points from another team
Typhoon, to remove points from all teams

As with other games nothing is hard-coded so vary the rules to best suit your class.
Wordsearch

A randomly generating wordsearch activity.

Random or preset game modes allow you the choice to have students attempt their own puzzle or all work on the same puzzle together.
All topics have 20 preset puzzles at each difficulty level.

Difficulty levels adjust the size of the grid, as well as the number of words to find.

Switch from uppercase to lowercase at any time before or during the activity.

Random game allows for instantly resetting to try another puzzle!
Mystery Picture

A game about gradually revealing a concealed image.

Choose from any topic the images you want to have appear during the game. Their order will always be randomized.
Double clicking the topic button allows you to select only specific images from that set.
"Quick Start" immediately begins the game with images randomly chosen from the entire library.

A practice screen lets you confirm your image choices and run practice.

Click on the concealed image to reveal a section surrounding that point.
Select from size settings and also to have your revealed portions stay revealed or not.
The "A" button shows the full image, and the change button moves on to the next image.
Flash Typing
X
A game about typing unseen words.

Choose from topics and levels to customize the game appropriately.

When the game is started one word is displayed onscreen for only one second.
The player must type the word correctly to advance to the next word.
After completing a word, a corresponding image is displayed.

The "Help" button will display the word again for one second.

A final dialog shows how many words were completed, and with how many errors.
Sight Words

A game about reading short words.

Choose from topics and levels to customize the game appropriately.

When the game is started one word is displayed onscreen along with three images.
The player must choose the correct image to match the word.
The images will change to indicate the player chose correctly or not.

The correct image becomes the path to the next question.

A final dialog shows how many words were completed, and with how many errors.
Wordblocks
X
Word Blocks is a game about building sentences.

Choose from the list of game modes and begin making sentences from the available words.

There are various game modes and challenges to suit any level, such as 'Free Play' and 'Time Attack'.
Collect coins as you make sentences and use those coins to buy new words, or modify current words to make even more interesting sentences.
The in-game stat display allows you to see statistics from your current games, as well as view the all time high-scores and stats. Maybe your score can take that top place!
There is a full guide in game that explains all game-modes and other mechanics in detail.

Bubblepop
X
Bubble Pop is a game about reading words and popping bubbles.

In "easy" and "normal" difficulty you choose a topic from the list.
Start the game, and pop the bubbles that contain the target word(displayed in the top-left). As you level up the number of bubbles increases.

In challenge mode the target is a topic, and you must pop bubbles with words that belong in that topic.

Don't pop a wrong bubble or your health will go down, but you can get it back up with a heart bubble.
There are some other fun bubbles to watch out for. Pop them and see what happens...

In-game settings allow you to customize your game-experience.
Timer
X
A simple timer app for use in games and activities

For all the utility that it brings, this really is little more than a simple timer.

Set seconds and minutes and set the timer running.

With the large display the timer is easily visible in even a large room.
Tiles
X
A fun spelling and reading game.

Choose from topics or by word length to customize the game.

Choose from the available letters to spell out the target word.

When you check the answer, correct letters will turn green, and letters that are in the wrong place will turn yellow.

Topic based games will have all the words from that topic, while other game types will generate 10 questions per game.
Sound Match
X
A game about matching sounds and images.

Choose from topics to customize the game. You can choose selected images from a topic, whole topics or multiple topics.

Compare the audio that plays and the images that come into view.

When the audio and image matches, choose yes, otherwise choose no.

Secret ABC
X
A game about guessing letters and words.
At another time and place this game might have been called "hangman".

Navigate the menus to select a list of words, from a topic or by word length.
In game, the number of hidden letters is shown and players must guess the letters.
The positions of letters are revealed once they have been guessed.
It is possible to have multiple words with spaces.

After each incorrect guess, one balloon will be popped.
The player has failed to guess the word when all the balloons have been popped.
The option is available to disable limited guesses and play freely.
Pizza Land
X
A game about making pizzas!
Players in the role of customer navigate to the "buy" menu.
There they can browse the menu, view their pizza collection and receive a pizza with an order number.

Players in the role of pizza chef navigate to the "make" menu.
There they can prepare and cook a pizza according to the customer's order.
After cooking the pizza the chef can "send" it - and the order number will display.

Share this number with the customer so they can receive their pizza from the "Get Pizza" menu.
